Nicole Jacquis

Nicole Jaquis is a Sādhana Curriculum Developer and teacher at YogAnga Retreat, where she has created course materials for Yoga Teacher Trainings, Sanskrit, Sukṣma Vyāyām, Marmas, and Ayurveda. She also facilitates silent retreats and contributes to the ashram through multimedia work.

Originally from the United States, Nicole holds a degree in Philosophy and Studio Art (Photography). She first came to India in 2000 through documentary filmmaking, but what began as a search for meaningful subjects gradually became a deeper search for spiritual understanding. Over time, direct experience and personal practice took precedence over documentation.

Practice & training

Although she has completed extensive formal training across multiple yoga disciplines, her primary education comes from long-term immersion in traditional settings, including time spent among the Naga Sanyasis of the Śri Pañc Daśnām Juna Akhara. This experience continues to inform her approach to teaching and curriculum development.

Nicole has been connected to Santosh Puri Ashram since the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar and has been living there since 2014, contributing to the development of structured programs while teaching asana, pranayama, and foundational practices.

Life and work in the Himalayas

When not at the ashram, she spends time in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas, where she continues her personal practice, develops retreat programs, and teaches yoga, meditation, and creative subjects to local communities.
